For the past edition 2024,  China Pesticide Industry Development Summit, hosted by CCPIT CHEM, was successfully held in Shanghai. The summit was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Mr. Zhao Jungui, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation; Mr. Huang Xiuzhu, Director of the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (ICAMA); and Mr. Yan Duanxiang, Former Deputy Director of ICAMA. Additionally, 21 corporate entrepreneurs also attended the summit. The event was chaired by Mr. Liu Jigang, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CCPIT CHEM.

During the summit, Mr. Zhao Jungui briefly analyzed the current business environment and development directions for China's petrochemical industry. He advised that the Chinese pesticide industry should prepare in advance for shifting from price competition to brand competition and cultivate more enterprises with international competitive advantages.

Entrepreneurs discussed the pathways to high-quality development for China's pesticide industry, addressing issues such as overheated investment in certain pesticide products, sharp price declines, measures to handle these trends, internal transfers of pesticide registration certificates within corporate groups, submission of data for pesticide registration reevaluation, registration of innovative new pesticides, protection of pesticide intellectual property rights, anticounterfeiting of agricultural materials, coordinated development of biopesticides and chemical pesticides, development of domestic and international markets, and other challenges and confusions encountered in business development. They freely expressed their opinions and offered suggestions.

Director Huang Xiuzhu responded to the main issues raised by entrepreneurs and emphasized the need to expedite the pesticide registration review process in a scientific, fair, and transparent manner. He stressed further serving the industry’s needs and agricultural production, working together with all present to promote high-quality development in China’s pesticide industry.
